With rapid growth continuing, Red Badge Group have been consistently recruiting for quality managers to join our team across the country. As unemployment rates reach near record lows in New Zealand, finding exceptional talent to match our high standards is often challenging. Over the last 22 years in business, Red Badge Group has been focused on doing things differently and recognised that as an industry we should never accept something should be done a certain way because ‘that’s how it’s always been done’.
On that basis, in 2018 Red Badge initiated a graduate programme with a view of bringing talented young people into our team. Focused on creating future leaders in both business and our industry, the programme has seen huge success and in its first year both Amy Yallop (National HR & Training Coordinator) and Stella Donachie (Event Operations Coordinator) have flourished and are now coming up to their one year anniversaries with Red Badge Group.
Over the past twelve months Amy and Stella have grown with us, challenging us to think differently and strive for ‘exceptional’ both internally and externally. On the back of this success we decided to expand the programme for 2019.
Our most recent Graduates have joined us for the busy summer period after completing their tertiary studies and gaining their Bachelor’s Degrees.
Our current superstar graduates include:
Marijke de Kort, who has come on board as an Event Operations Graduate in Auckland and is working alongside the events team. Marijke has joined Red Badge off the back of completing her studies at Victoria University of Wellington with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Criminology & Sociology. Marijke is planning to use her experience and skills gained from working at Red Badge to enter the police force in the coming years.

Awhina Gray, who has joined the Wellington management as an Event Operations Graduate. Awhina is part of the events team and has recently gained her degree from Victoria University of Wellington, with a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Finance & Management.

Fraser Crawford has joined the Christchurch Event Operations team as a Graduate, where he is working alongside management within the events space. Fraser has joined Red Badge after having studied at the University of Canterbury where he completed a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Management & Strategy as well as entrepreneurship.

Zoe Lloydd has recently joined the Auckland team as a Marketing and Communications Graduate. This is the first marketing position to exist within Red Badge and Zoe will be working alongside the Auckland management team, before returning to the University of Otago to complete her final semester studying a Bachelor of Commerce with Marketing and Psychology.

Red Badge group are extremely pleased with the outcome of the Graduate Programme thus far and are excited to witness the growth that is to come as positions will continue to be advertised across recruitment channels such as NxtStep, Seek and here on the Red Badge website. This is yet another step taken to ensure that Red Badge is not only trying to bring smart, energetic people into the industry, but also growing our management depth to support our clients from Kaitaia through to Invercargill.
