About the Role:

  • Maintaining the safety and security of all individuals within the shopping environment
  • Detect, deter, and observe customers.
  • Locking/unlocking the mall or allowing after hours access to contractors
  • Using specialist technology to assist with reporting.
  • Create a positive working relationship with internal and external stakeholders (client, police etc).
  • Patrolling the mall to monitor entrances & exits, and high-risk areas
  • Monitoring and responding to customer conflicts, incidents or medical issues.
  • Manage crowd flow in event of fire evacuations or other large incidents.
  • Provide clear and concise daily reports detailing any incidents, observations, or actions taken during the shift.
  • Provide outstanding customer service to all customers and retailers. 
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism at all times

About you:

  • Prior experience in a customer facing role such as hospitality or retail; security or a related field is preferred, but not required. We offer training for qualified candidates
  • Valid Green COA Security License is desirable; however Red Badge can support you in obtaining one if you are 18 years old or over, have a clean criminal record & eligible to work in NZ.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with a diverse range of individuals in a positive and professional manner
  • Strong observational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations and make quick decisions when needed
  • Able to take directives from Site Supervisors, Managers & clients; and work well in team environments
  • Possess a strong, professional work ethic and desire to take responsibility.
  • Must be reliable, confident & honest at all times
  • Physical fitness and the ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including at least 1 weekend day.
