2023 has brought with it a host of significant events for our clients around the motu – FIFA Women’s World Cup, the Warriors, and Robbie Williams to name a few. We have been extremely proud to play a part in the slick operation and delivery.
Continuing this trajectory of success, the Red Badge Events and Venues team are excited to welcome Ashley Quensell on board as General Manager Events and Venues, starting mid-January. As a well-known industry expert with over two decades of experience, Ash is set to hit the ground running to add immediate value to the already world class service offering.
Red Badge Group CEO Ben Wooding said, “It’s a unique opportunity to have Ash join the team. By strategically inserting a leader who will drive development and consistency of operational performance nationwide, whilst being hands on with our event delivery, I expect to see some really cool enhancements for our customers.”
Ash joins us after 10 years as a General Manager at Platform 4 Group, bringing a wealth of experience managing events, festivals, concerts, as well as entertainment arenas and sporting stadiums in New Zealand. His career has seen him strategically involved in the operational service delivery and venue security management of many high-profile events, such as the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023, the 36th Americas Cup Village, the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup and more. Ash was also a Board member of Entertainment Venues Association of New Zealand (EVANZ).
In a rapidly evolving industry, the core function of Ash’s role is to develop a dynamic service delivery staying ahead of trends, giving clients confidence they have partnered with the market leader. “Doubling down on this area of the business will allow us to push forward with redefining security for our clients, by consistently delivering reliability and service excellence,” says Wooding.
It’ll be a full circle moment for Ash, having first started his career in events security with Red Badge 20 years ago. He is looking forward to kicking off in the new year, “Red Badge have got big ambitions in the events and venues space, and there’s a real opportunity for me to add value to an already high-performing team, and to a company that truly values both staff and clients.”
Looking forward to 2024, Red Badge are amped and ready to take on next year. And it’s already gearing up to be a fantastic year with their re-signing with H3 in Hamilton and a lineup of events including the Karaka Million, Electric Avenue, and Foo Fighters.
