September 22, 2022

Last Friday 16th September 2022 Red Badge Group attended the annual NZSA Security awards in Auckland. This formal evening, set at the beautiful Hilton Hotel on Princess wharf, recognised some of the best and most dedicated security professionals across NZ. The NZSA awards are held in high regard across the industry. Gary Morrison, CEO NZSA said “This year we received 142 nominations from individuals representing 30 different companies and it is great to see 20 of those companies listed amongst the finalists- including an even mix of the larger national companies and smaller, more regionally based providers. I can also advise that the quality of nominations received this year is well in excess of previous years.”

Red Badge Group were proud to have 3 finalists this year.

  • Kayne Greenwood – Guarding Sector Trainee of the Year
  • Bailey Gaines – Security Trainer or Workplace Assessor of the Year
  • Red Badge Group – Michael Pepper Award for Outstanding Security Training Initiative

Congrats to all our finalists, on the night we were successful in winning two of the 3 categories.

  • Red Badge Group – Michael Pepper Award for Outstanding Security Training Initiative.

Red Badge Academy – an online and app-based learning management system. All learning and development are integrated onto the platform to support in-person training sessions, and to allow team members nationwide access to learning opportunities from the palm of their hand.

Having an online training platform in 2022 is nothing new, but Red Badge have gone one step further to utilise this platform to provide an online version of the Level 3 National Certificate for their team. With 37 users and 151 completed courses, this initiative can definitely be labelled a success and worth celebrating.

  • Kayne Greenwood – Guarding Sector Trainee of the Year

Kayne has been in the industry for 7+ years in a casual capacity, in December 2021 he took the leap from Property Management to being a full time Coordinator with Red Security. Kayne quickly identified that he wanted to become a COA trainer, so while learning a new role and dedicating time to new clients and staff development, Kayne has successfully enrolled in and completed his L3 National Certificate in Security. Kayne has also recently completed the Train the Trainer course enabling him to train our staff in their mandatory COA unit standards.

Now seen as one of the Senior leaders within the Waikato/BOP region, Kayne has grown extensively since December of last year, and is held in high regard by our clients and our staff alike.

Congrats Kayne and the Red Badge Academy team on being NZSA Award winners 2022.
