We were frightened and looking for answers. Brian parked his car for easy visibility, provided initial first aid as required, turned on the radio and gave regular updates as news came to hand. He was approachable and never stopped looking for options to get us to a safer place. We pleaded with the Red Badge team to leave and check on their families and we would manage ‘our delegates’. But, of course, that was never an option for Brian and the team. Their sense of duty is totally commendable.”
