About the transfer process

What’s Changing, What’s Staying the Same
Under the Employment Relations Act and vulnerable worker protections, if your employer loses a security contract, you have the right to transfer to the new provider — in this case, Red Badge Group — with all your current terms and conditions protected.
We want you to know this transition is about continuity, not disruption.
What stays the same:

What changes:

Your employer will be Red Badge Group – a 100% Kiwi-owned company committed to your success and wellbeing.

What’s the process like?

You’ll receive a letter from your current employer asking if you want to transfer to Red Badge Group.

If you say no, you’ll finish working at the Port of Auckland, but your current employer may offer other roles.

If you say yes, your employment info will be shared with us, and we’ll reach out to confirm next steps, induction, and your roster.

You have 10 working days from receiving the letter to decide. If you don’t respond, it’s assumed you don’t wish to transfer.

Once confirmed, you’ll continue working at the Port of Auckland with Red Badge as your new employer.

Can Red Badge change my current pay or hours?
No. Your current pay rate, hours of work, and other conditions are protected under law and must remain the same unless you agree to any changes.

Will I be on a trial period?
No. You cannot be placed on a 90-day trial or probation period when transferring.

What support will I get during the change?
We will provide induction, onboarding support, and access to our leadership and rostering teams to ensure everything continues without disruption.
