On Friday 14th April 2023, the best of the best in the security industry gathered at the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron in Auckland to attend the Outstanding Security Performance Awards (OSPA’s). This night was all about recognising and awarding the outstanding performers across the security sector. Over 100 people were in attendance, with almost 20 security companies represented across the industry. This was the second time the awards took place in New Zealand, and we were excited to be announced as finalists in four of the categories on the night:
- Outstanding Young Security Professional – Miranda Cannon
- Outstanding Female Security Professional – Casma Moore
- Outstanding Contract Security Company (Guarding) – Red Badge Group
- Outstanding Security Partnership – Red Badge Group and Workforce
We are proud to celebrate with our finalists, and with our winner for the night Miranda Cannon took home the Young Security Professional of the year award. The award recognises young security professionals who have excelled in their career performance and who has made an impact in the security industry.
Miranda’s unique blend of customer service experience, leadership skills, and dedication to her team have made her stand out from the rest. Her impact has been felt both inside and outside the workplace and has set a high standard for others to follow. With her exceptional performance, it is clear that Miranda has a bright future in the security industry and at Red Badge, and her contributions will continue to have a positive impact on the industry for years to come.
The judges were impressed by Miranda’s dedication and professionalism, and it was evident in her work in turning the Hawkes Bay region around for Red Badge. They also noted that she overcame personal adversity through an unplanned career change, and yet seamlessly transitioned into her role while adding value to Red Badge, her staff, and her customers.
This is the second year in a row one of our staff have received this award, with our Auckland Events and Venues Manager Stella Donachie having won the award in 2022.
